American Peat

I recently had the privilege of writing an article about American peated whiskey for Distiller Magazine. This story covers everything from American Single Malt made with peated Scottish barley to bourbon using peated malt to producers who are digging up American peat. There's huge variety here and lots of interesting techniques and flavors being discovered.

I had a blast talking to many talented distillers and tasting their spirits and learned way more than I could fit into the story. So I'll share a little bit more about some of these spirits including some tasting notes here on the website.
