Nose: Strong, sherry forward backed up by sweet, wet ash and bitter chocolate. Can’t believe this is 40%! It is so robust. Funky, white grape juice. Apricot and cherry pits. Oily, grilled fennel.
Palate: Again, very robust. Muscadine wine. Fresh ground malt. Nutty oat cakes. Driftwood fire smoke. Bow resin. Hot barrel spice and white pepper. Balanced but deliciously sweet.
