Nose: Rich and full with a great balance of solvent and acid. Also a wonderful balance between fruitier esters and barrel notes. Orange and peach stand out among the fruit notes. Bready grain quality. Sweet and dense. Panettone with dried cherries. Fruit cake with Christmas spices.
Palate: Compliments the nose nicely. Berry cobbler. Orange soda. Canned peaches. Cinnamon and nutmeg come through clearly. Cardamom. Vanilla simple syrup mixed into Earl Grey tea. Sticky mouthfeel and a long, perfectly spiced finish.
Excellent whisky. And very interesting to try Australian whisky as a Texas distiller. Plenty of similarities!
