Distillery: Teaninich
Cask: Ex-bourbon into new Sauternes
ABV: 55.6%
Age: 11 years
Distilled: September 29th, 2008
Nose: Delicate, layered, complex. Apple fritters, French pastries, pavlova with berries and mint, lemon rind, pear flowers, honey syrup.
Palate: Huge honey flavors, intense sweetness, custard filled tarts, heavily salted shortbread. Wheat bread with apricot jam. Long, thick, honeyed finish.
Overall: Delicious! I tasted this blind and was shocked at the relatively young age when it was revealed. This is mature and full with all the edges rounded off. The Sauternes works wonders here, layering the honey notes that make this dram stand out.
